North-facing slope (Obagues) of the Corb river Protected Natural Area

Obagues del riu Corb

A small area formed around the Corb river as it passes through Conca de Barberà. The landscape creates a beautiful mosaic with a mixture of forests and dry farming fields, visible from the roads that cross the area and with great naturalistic interest.

In the shady areas of the Corb river, the sub-Mediterranean oak groves of small-leaved oak are particularly interesting from a naturalistic point of view, as the presence of sub-Mediterranean and Euro-Siberian elements in an eminently dry and continental country, such as the surrounding area, is in itself a remarkable botanical singularity.

It is an easily accessible route, with a gentle relief and along its interior runs the GR 171 route, making it an excellent destination for hiking and mountain biking. It also offers additional attractions such as the Vallfogona spa, the ruins of the Savella castle and the Romanesque chapel of Sant Pere de Savella, as well as numerous farmhouses and dry-stone constructions.
